I can’t find any leek starters at my local nursery and I was wondering if I could just buy a leek from my grocer and use that as a transplant.

You can mail order leek plants from jungs seed company for a reasonable price for 50 or 100 plants. These leeks don’t seem to grow as big as the ones in the grocery store, but I live in a very short season area & maybe I didn’t fertilize them enough (I am in central/northern Minnesota). There are other places to order leeks, but I got mine from Jungs last year & was happy with them, and their price is lower than most places. The plants look sad, but if you plant them according to directions, they will come out fine. I lost only 3 or 4 out of 100.
