Bermuda is a great lawn, and not just a weed. Bermuda or cynodon dactylon has not only been used extensivly in domestic aplications it has prevented soil erosion thruoghout Africa for decades. Bermuda has also offerred good feed for animal grazing. Anybody who does not give thier flower beds some attention should not have them as they are a high maintanance feature for any garden. Bermuda is more invasive, however this atribute also give it a very high traffic tolerance.

I heard that you can place a plastic cover over the grass you want to remove, then the lack of water and concentrated heat will kill it. I have not tried that, i just used a sod cutting hand tool then dug about 6″
